Abstract
Reviewing Prof. Dr. Recep Özkan's book titled "The Sociology of Migration: Being the Grandchild of an Exchange 100 Years Later," this study examines the historical and social ramifications of the 1924 Population Exchange between Turkey and Greece. Based on oral history interviews and fieldwork conducted with descendants of exchangees from Kayseri-Develi (Faraşa) living in Greece, the review investigates intergenerational cultural transmission. The analysis highlights how linguistic heritage, traditional cuisine, and a sense of belonging remain vibrant after a century, demonstrating the enduring impact of displacement on collective memory.
